A Brief history of CMA Fest…

Starting in 1972 as “Fan Fair” at Municipal Auditorium in downtown Nashville, this event has grown for more than 50 years. The event moved out to the Nashville Fairgrounds in the 80’s with concerts day and night at the Nashville Speedway, with dual stages set right on the front stretch of the track and autographs in the barns and buildings surrounding the track.

In a brilliant move by CMA and the city of Nashville, in 2001 the festival moved to downtown which allows the guests to not only take in the festival events, but peruse the awesome honky tonks and clubs that are so popular.  In 2004 the name of the event was changed to CMA Music Festival.  For CMA Fest week in downtown Nashville, there are multiple stages set up in public areas.  In the past these have included Riverfront Park, Walk of Fame Park, the Bridgestone Arena Plaza and more.  The new Music City Center hosts Fan Fair X, an expo area with souvenirs, intimate stage performances and interviews, meet and greet opportunities and more.

The biggest piece to the festival are the nightly concerts at Nissan Stadium where the Tennessee Titans of the NFL play their football.  50,000 plus fans have reserved seats to see the top names in country music in this incredible setting each night over the four days singing, swaying and enjoying the biggest party in country music!

What our customers have to say...

The gift bags this year were great! It contained items that first time CMA Fest guests may not know they need during their trip. Booking our package has always been easy! I've worked with Jackie each year I attend and she is always helpful and pleasant to work with!! The website is easy to navigate for all needs too. I love all the emails/information given. It helps serve as a reminder for certain things prior to the event, as well as in the few weeks prior to the festival.

I just wanted to send you a quick "Thank you" for everything you guys do/did to make my families 1st CMA Fest, 1st trip to Nashville and my 50th birthday celebration a very memorable one. You took away the stress of planning and organize a big trip like this. Booking with you was easy, convenient & trouble free. Everything was taken care of from start to finish. Grand Ole Opry tickets/seats were a great location, our CMA ticket seats were perfect & the Tru by Hilton was an excellent host hotel with a great location to everything. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

First time booking through VisitCMAFest operator and everything was seamless. I had my doubts when booking my package since it was my first time and the amount of money involve, but Jackie and Bill are very clear explaining how the process was even when I gave them a call. Thank you for organizing our lodging and getting our ticket for the 4-Day Pass. I met Anna (the greeter at our hotel) and she was extremely friendly and welcoming! Thank you again!
